RUSSELL CROWE HAS DECIDED TO BE BAPTIZED:

RUSSELL CROWE has decided to be baptized. Russell is 43.

He says, quote, "I'd like to do it this year. My mom and dad decided to let my brother and me make our own decisions about God when we got to the right age. I started thinking recently, 'If I believe it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?'"


He adds, quote, "I do believe there are more important things than what is in the mind of a man. There is something much bigger that drives us all. I'm willing to take that leap of faith."


He'll do it at the Byzantine chapel he built on his Australian ranch for his wedding to Danielle Spencer in 2003. That's where their 3-year-old son Charlie was baptized . . . and where their 1-year-old son, Tennyson, will be baptized, too.

BRITNEY SPEARS IS BEING INVESTIGATED FOR RUNNING OVER A COP'S FOOT:

BRITNEY SPEARS was recently investigated by the LAPD . . . for running over the foot of a Sheriff's deputy.

It happened when Britney was leaving the county courthouse after a custody hearing on October 26th . . . two Fridays ago. The cop was trying to help Britney maneuver through the typically insane crowd of paparazzi swarming around her.

Luckily for Britney, she's not in any trouble over this. The LAPD says, quote, "This case is closed and appears to have been just an accident."

HAYDEN PANETTIERE AND HER DOLPHIN-LOVING CREW ACTUALLY GOT INTO A SERIOUS CONFRONTATION WITH JAPANESE DOLPHIN SLAUGHTERERS:

It turns out that HAYDEN PANETTIERE and her dolphin-loving friends did a little more than just paddle out into a Japanese cove where dolphins are captured and slaughtered and say a little prayer.

They actually tried to reach a pod of dolphins that were about to be slaughtered. . . and ended up in a pretty heated confrontation with Japanese fishermen as a result.

The fishermen actually took their boats out and intercepted the surfing party. They even turned the boats so that their PROPELLORS were blocking Hayden and her fellow activists.

One fisherman tried to ward them off with a BOAT HOOK. . . which, according to Hayden, some of them were actually hit with.

After the confrontation, Hayden and her friends left Japan IMMEDIATELY, so they wouldn't be arrested for messing with the fishermen. . . since, under Japanese law, what they do is totally legal. (--Check out a British news report of this chaos here. . .)
